Medical equipment: plastic medical components

PROCESS is involved in the health sector with the production of medical equipment and as such, designs and produces plastic medical components for laboratory equipment, diagnoses, medical imaging, etc. Our know-how in thermoplastic injection coupled with our workshops enable us to ensure compliance with the standards applying to medical devices.

Medical equipment and plastic materials

The use of medical plastics holds a predominant position in the health sector and the design of medical devices of all types: simple consumables, examination instruments, surgical tools, active medical devices (AMD) and even implants, prostheses, etc.

As an alternative to a number of other materials (metal, steel, glass, ceramic, etc.), thermoplastic materials are easier to produce, more economical and, above all, offer the qualities required by the medical sector: easy to sterilise, bio-compatible and physiologically safe.

Furthermore, the use of plastic injection for medical equipment enables:

  • compliance with standards applying to medical devices as required by European and French regulations;
  • the mechanical and physical constraints of the devices to be met (temperature variations, irradiation, radiation, etc.) ;
  • the production of components with complex and varied shapes and properties: ergonomics, anatomic lines, technical parts, etc.

PROCESS: plastic injection for medical devices

With its expertise in plastic injection, PROCESS is involved in the manufacture of medical equipment and produces plastic medical components in compliance with the requirements of laboratories, hospitals and health establishments.

Our production lines help particularly with the creation of parts and component sub-assemblies that are both functional and aesthetic and used in active medical devices (AMD): blood testing apparatus, scanners, rehabilitation probes, ophthalmic examination apparatus, etc.

We use different plastics processes adapted to the nature and function of each component or piece of medical equipment:
